  11. StampBase for DOS is a shareware software product.  STAMPB.EXE is a
  12. self-extracting file containing the compressed files required to use StampBase
  13. for DOS.  STAMPB.EXE was created using the software program LHA (Copyright
  14. 1990-1991 by Haruyasu Yoshizaki).  Individual users may copy this program and
  15. share it with friends.

  17. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:  IBM PC or compatible with 640K RAM, a hard drive and
  18. DOS 3.1 or higher.  Program supports mouse and keyboard.

  20.                              DETAILED DESCRIPTION

  22. StampBase for DOS is a stamp collection inventory system designed for the
  23. hobbyist.  Your stamp collection information can be stored in one or more
  24. files with each file containing a limit of 128 megabytes.  Information
  25. about each stamp can include:  country, catalog number, category, issue year,
  26. description, grade, condition, purchase date, cost, market value and comments.

  28. StampBase provides intuitive data entry, edit and browse features.  Stamp
  29. information can be added, changed or deleted.  Use StampBase's powerful query
  30. feature to browse through the database.  All information is sorted and indexed
  31. (except notes) to provide quick access.  Stamp information can be displayed
  32. on screen or in printed reports.

  34. This is NOT free software.  This is NOT public domain software.  Stamp for
  35. DOS is a shareware software product.  You are expected to pay a $24.95
  36. registration fee plus shipping and handling to the author if you find it
  37. useful.  Registered users receive the latest version of the program, a printed
  38. User's Guide, free technical support and notification of program updates and
  39. upgrades.  A registration form is included in the program.

  49.                        INSTALLATION AND UNPACKING PROGRAM

  51. Copy StampBase files to your hard drive before attempting to run the program. 
  52. The StampBase files are compressed into a self-extracting file called
  53. STAMPD.EXE.  Use the following instructions to create a directory and copy the
  54. program files from the disk to the new directory on the hard drive.   Ignore
  55. the quotations when entering instructions.

  57.       1.    At the C> type "cd\" and press ENTER.  The root directory will now
  58.             be current directory.
  59.  
  60.       2.    Type "md stampd" and press ENTER to create a new directory called
  61.             STAMPD.
  62.  
  63.       3.    Type "cd\stampd" and press ENTER.  The STAMPD directory is now the
  64.             current directory.
  65.  
  66.       4.    Insert StampBase disk into drive A or B.
  67.  
  68.       5.    Type "A:" or "B:" for the drive containing the StampBase disk.

  70.       6.    At the A> or B> type "copy *.* c:" and press ENTER.  STAMPD.EXE
  71.             will now be copied to the STAMPD subdirectory on the hard drive.

  73.       7.    Type "C:" and press ENTER.  The prompt should be C:STAMPD>.

  75.       8.    Type "stampd" and press ENTER.  The StampBase files will now be
  76.             unpacked and available for use.
